Trivia
- In the English-language dub of Gaining Groudon, Tabitha directly addresses one Magma grunt as Derek. This makes him one of the very few villainous team grunts in the franchise to have a confirmed name.
- In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, a former Magma Grunt can be found in Icirrus City during winter, appearing as a Roughneck. He is in a relationship with a former female Aqua Grunt and neither seems to know the other's previous affiliation.
- In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, there is a former Magma Grunt with a former Aqua Grunt hiding in the Battle Resort, afraid that their respective teams will disapprove. Whether they are the same couple in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 is unknown, due to the couple's awareness of each other's past.
